Nickled and dimed

The book Nickled and dimed starts of with the explaining her purpose and it was if she could live in america as a middle class citizen of the U.S. In my opinion, she wants to fail only to prove her point. I think even by reading the first pages that she is setting her self to fail. An american can live well in a middle class life. But she makes it seem so nagative. Perhaps the middle class does have problems but it depends on their situation.

Malcolm gladwell's "The cool hunt "conveys two people whom search for whats cool so that maybe their company gets profit. I think that their point of veiw of searching for whats cool conveys who is weak and the one that knows who they are.

America is still a superpower in the world for the simple reason that its influence has not declined in the last decades. for example if the economy were to decline the world would suffer . America has only lost its integrity in the world because it has maintained a bad policy in regards to the world.

The journal promt i wrote about was in response to an article in The Atlantic Monthly called Million Dollar Babies written by Stephen Fatsis. He states that the NBA has prohibited the leap of high school students to pro basketball and a possible leap into European Basketball. I think the NBA has no jurisdiction over any player after highschool and the choices of these players to go to european teams. I alos think college is not related to the player and it wouldn't hurt the player because the player would win millions and college becomes unnecasary. The NBA doesn't decide over european leagues as well.

The "united states of europe" this week also showed the power of a united europe after the most devided continent in the world during a age of extreme change. The book also described the people that united europe and conveyed the hard work that had to be done.

This week the book conveyed europes gov.t. and explained how europe is becoming the super power in the world and beating united states in that aspect. It also compared the influenses that the united states has in the world.
